Wouldn't it be great if...
That's what we all say to ourselves or someone at one time or another in a day, in a week, or in a year even. But why? Why do we want something we don't have or need to have? Because we fear without it we cannot function.
Wouldn't it be great if we were raised to have faith. I know you're reading this and saying, "I have faith, I go to church." Well I'm not talking about that kind of faith. What I'm talking about is the faith to overcome fear, your fears, my fears too.
I was reading this sample selection from @Max Lucado about becoming fearless in our world. That is the faith we need.
Wouldn't it be great if we need not instill fear in children, in our communities, in ourselves?
Then Max Lucado goes on to say, we should just walk out of fear...how simple is that, I ask.
More people these days take medication to subside their fears. These fears come from the media, from our panic stricken parents, from our government, our schools, and industries to make more, produce more, more, more, more!!!
I have a few family members who suffer from anxiety which are created and built up from fears deep inside. I know I too have anxiety at times. Thank God for therapy and even better I believe, thank God for yoga, relaxation exercises, etc. THAT IS THE REAL HEALER!
Speaking of church and faith...it states in the Bible (Matt. 8:26) Jesus asks, "Why are you afraid?" So church goers, faith healers, why are you, and why would you bring fear into your world?
To control, yes, I saw this control many times in my marriage but I walked away from the fear however, it stayed in the room. Not a good thing to do.
So about 18 years later I have begun to walk out of the fears that I have. I have begun to approach the "Wouldn't It Be Great If...mentality.
Wouldn't it great if I could be the person I have dreamed of being. I'm on my way.................
I am leaving behind, the uncertainty of my being and I will reverse that thought of fearful approach and turn it into...I am a human, I am not perfect, I am allowed to be; shy, uncertain, coy, funny, loud, soft, big, tiny anything I need to be at the given moment. I will not fear your dislike or indifference. You are allowed to have that feeling. Just as I am allowed to be positive in the face of fear because I know you...you are a human, you are not perfect...you need to hide from your fears too. But let's take the walk, the walk out of fear and into positive feelings. Not arrogant feelings but positive feelings that bring humans together for the right reasons.
@Iyanla Vanzant also brings me great quotes through my Tweets. She says, "When you own what you feel, you are empowered to make a conscious choice about how to change the feeling."
So these two authors have summed up my need to lose the fear and know ME. To know me is to know you too.
Fearless people can use their minds better...they can solve problems that need not be a fear. We don't have to be guarded, we can approach our fears and own our positive feeling...because we are...beings :o)
